Kudos to Elvis Mitchell and Timothy Greenfield-Sanders for two excellent documents for the film archives. The Black List Volumes 1&2 are both available on HBO On Demand right now. Together they are only 2.5 hours. I found the first volume to be 1.5 hours of being entertained, educated and inspired. It is very easy to watch. I imagine Volume 2 will be the same so I’m already deeming it as good as Volume 1. Elvis Mitchell is the interviewer but he is unintrusive and clearly he created trust with the interviewees because they are so honest and revealing in their responses. Al Sharpton talks about how he uses theatrics to make his points because they are effective. Bill T. Jones talks about the reaction he got to saying his was an artist first and black second. Colin Powell says to critics who said he only got certain assignments because he’s black. He says 200 years ago, people got assignments because they were white. For him, what matters is how he executes his assignments. Sean Diddy Combs says unabashedly that he wanted to be a mogul. Mission accomplished. Oh, and I was surprised to see Slash from Guns n Roses featured. Interesting stuff.

I will follow Joss Whedon and Company to the ends of all venues and outlets. I worship the genius of the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firely, Serenity and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. I haven’t read any the Buffy and Angel graphic novels but I have the intention to do so. At any rate, I want Dollhouse to succeed. I have been eagerly anticipating this show since I first got whiff of it. I’m a typical diehard Joss Whedon fan. I salivate at the thought of his mind whirring and thinking of how he’s going to draw us in next. So far, Dollhouse has an interesting look, lots of action and Eliza Dushku going for it. The lack of humor is the most salient obstacle for me. Even through dark storylines on his other shows, Joss Whedon et al show their comedic stripes. Eliza Dushku says that the show will get its groove in Episode 6. We just saw Episode 3. So I’m holding on and even if it continues as it is, I will keep watching. I am rooting for this show!

Yes, my music taste spans across genres. The Jonas Brothers appeal mostly to tween girls, but aside from their adorableness, their music is catchy. I like their exuberance and guess what? They write their own music. The Jonas Brothers 3D Concert movie was an experience in itself. Because it was opening weekend, the true blue fans were out in full form. I’ve never been to a movie where the screaming and other audience reaction/participation was non-stop. Not even the Twilight opening weekend compares. I am seeing Watchman IMAX opening night. I will let you know how that goes.

I am loving Lost Season 5. I really should write my own column about it considering how much I enjoy reading other people’s analyses. But instead, I will take it easy and point you towards two more Lost-related sites I found thanks to Doc Jensen at Entertainment Weekly.

I got my tickets to see Keane on their latest US tour! Keane has become one of my all-time favorite bands. I’m so excited!
